Our Vision:
Our vision is a world where individuals and organizations don’t just survive pressure — they perform sustainably within it. By protecting capacity, preventing burnout, and redefining how we respond to heat, we help people shift from constant proving to intentional pausing and purposeful proceeding.
We believe success should be sustainable. That leaders can pursue excellence without self-destruction. And that when people learn to regulate pressure instead of absorbing it, they build the clarity, strength, and structure needed for lasting impact — personally and professionally.
Rashad Hayes: Mixing Passion, Growth, and a Little Frosting
An influential thought leader on capacity and performance, Rashad Hayes understands what it means to rise under pressure. When he was diagnosed with cancer, life intensified in ways few are prepared for. That season could have derailed everything. Instead, it clarified his life’s work.
Rashad discovered that pressure itself isn’t the enemy. Unmanaged pressure is. When capacity isn’t protected, even the strongest performers burn out.
From that insight came Don’t Burn Your Cake® — a framework designed to help individuals and organizations protect their capacity, prevent burnout, and sustain excellence. Grounded in his Prove. Pause. Proceed. approach, Rashad challenges high performers to break free from constant proving, pause with intention, and proceed with clarity and strength.
With a degree in Community Health and Social Work from UAB and doctoral studies in Community Health, Rashad blends lived experience with research-backed insight. A former collegiate athlete, he understands discipline, recovery, and the importance of performing under pressure without losing yourself in the process.
Today, his mission is clear: help leaders and organizations perform at the highest level without sacrificing their people. Whether on stage, in workshops, or advising executive teams, Rashad delivers a powerful mix of clarity, strategy, and conviction.
Because pressure is inevitable. Burnout is not. And when you protect your capacity, you can perform without self-destruction.

Rashad Hayes is not your average speaker—he’s a full-on force of nature.
Before inspiring audiences nationwide, Rashad Hayes served on the frontlines of oncology social work, guiding patients and families through life-altering diagnoses. That work — combined with his own battle against cancer — revealed a powerful truth: the strongest people often carry the heaviest loads, and even high performers have limits. When capacity isn’t protected, burnout is inevitable.
That realization became the foundation of his movement: Don’t Burn Your Cake®.
Through this philosophy and his Prove. Pause. Proceed. approach, Rashad equips high-achieving professionals and organizations to break the cycle of constant proving, regulate pressure, and perform sustainably. His work helps leaders protect their capacity, prevent burnout, and build cultures where excellence does not require self-destruction.
Blending lived experience, research-backed insight, and compelling storytelling, Rashad moves audiences from awareness to action. Whether he’s sharing his journey from the chemo chair to the main stage or teaching executive teams how to operate under pressure without burning out their people, he leaves audiences with practical tools they can implement immediately.
He is also the author of Stuck in the Pan, a guide to recognizing when pressure is shrinking your capacity and how to pause, reset, and proceed with clarity. His message has ignited meaningful change in universities, school districts, nonprofits, and healthcare organizations nationwide.
When Rashad speaks, audiences don’t just listen — they recalibrate. They protect their capacity. And they proceed with intention.
